RARE 1967 MERCEDES 300SEL 6 Cylinder M189 Sedan
This is a great project for someone thatisn't afraid of the typical rust in the rocker panels. Being a 109.015 car, this is definitelyworth saving. It has been sitting for around 15-20 years from what I gather. It is a euro model with theglass single piece headlights, fog lamps, rare factory tow hitch, and velour interior.
The motor turns freely, but the starter is bad. That is all I know about itmechanically. It is not a factory two-tone. Someone simply painted the roof an ivory color, but it is supposedto be completely olive green.
It had factory curtains in the rear and rear headrests, butthose have been removed. Theoriginal burlwalnut wood is in pretty decent shape besides the front glass bow and a section of veneer that has peeled off on one ofthe door panel pieces. If I were to restore this car I would retain as much of theoriginal veneer as possible, as it is beautiful.
I made noattempt to clean the car, but I think the velour seats and carpets will clean up well. There are a few areas of damage on the drivers seat, but nothing outofthe ordinary.
If you need more pictures feel free to ask. I will block the air suspension for transport forthe buyer. I will also install tires that hold air. The car is stored in a neighborhood with steep hills so it is not accessible to large trucks. The buyer will have to pay for a flat bed tow truck to take the car to a larger truck for long distance transport.
