1973 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300 SEL Additional Info:

I'm sadly selling my 1973 Mercedes 300SEL -The Last and Best year for the W109’s that I have had for more then a decade. I have been very fond of Mercedes ever since I was a little kid. For decades I've collected quite a few Mercedes (mostly fintails) and I was in the process of building a garage but my plans have changed and I only have room for a couple and selling off the rest, this being the last of them that I am selling.

This is a lovely Silver/Red 300 SEL W109 with the original operating AIr-Ride Suspension. Two years ago was the first time I started it in three years. I got in the drivers seat, turned the key and within a couple of cranks it started right up. 20 mins later the air-bags filled up and I drove it around the block. Over the last two years I have driven it to get coffee on weekends and to a few car show events that are close by and have not had any issues.

I believe this MB was originally from the west and does not have rust anywhere. This MB has the original air-suspension with all four airbags that work properly, feels like driving on a cloud of air. After a few days it does lower but I do have rebuilt air valves and new Airbag that come with the car. The car drives great and the transmission shifts and operates as it should. The milage only has 5 digits and it says 58,585. I would not hesitate to drive this car on a long road trip in its mechanical condition. (The tires are top-of-the-line Michelin's although they are showing cracks from age)

Random points:

-No oil Links.

-The pictures of the car have been taken on June 11th, 2016.

-All four power windows operate but the rear are slow because I never use them.

-The vacuum door-locks sometimes work.

-The factory air-conditioning is not blowing cold.

-The condition of the interior is as pictured, Original Real Leather from the factory. The drivers seat is comfortable but the lower leather was replaced as you can see in pictures. If you know Mercedes, they do sell the OEM leather skins to bring back the drivers seat to new condition.

-Interior flaws: The wood on the dashboard is a bit old, no cracks on the upper dash but small cracks in the lower dash.

-The exterior paint is not original although it looks great as the pictures show.

-It drives straight and feels tight.

-The power steering is a bit tight in the morning but warms up.

-The Radio is not from this car.

-There is a slight exhaust leak.

-It is 43 years old and was never restored so not everything is in perfect condition.

-The speedo and RPM Tach work great but I have noticed that the trip miles are not turning.

-Lots of spare parts included

-Clean California Title

My goal is to sell this Mercedes with a reasonable end-of-auction-bid. The reserve is set at what I consider a reasonable price.

Good luck on your bidding.
