Offered is a 1986 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL sedan in extremely nice condition. Known as one of the last "true" Mercedes! This is an extremely well-built vehicle.
I purchased the vehicle from the original owner, a distinguished NJ doctor in his 90's back in March of this year. He was the original owner, and the vehicle was extremely well maintained and stored in a heated garage throughout his ownership. As such, this is a completely rust-free vehicle. The original purchase was from Contemporary Motorcars in Little Silver, NJ. Auto Check score is above average for this vehicle as referenced.
My original intention was to use the vehicle as I entered retirement in the near future, however it is larger than what I need. Circumstances change and I now plan on divesting the majority of my 6-vehicle vintage car collection.
As you view the photos, please note that the only items I have done cosmetically to the vehicle since purchase is wash, wax and vacuum. There was no need to do anything further than that. No need to shampoo carpets, buff exterior paint, etc.; the car is that nice.

EXTERIOR
For a 40-year-old car, this one is in exceptionally nice condition. Rust-free garage stored vehicle. Black paint is in very nice shiny condition. Of course, there are a few imperfections from age but nothing substantial. The paint has a very nice, essentially new, gloss and no fading. I have not touched up any items. Most noticeable are door edge chips on front passenger door and a couple scuffs on the gray portion of the rear bumper. Both easily touched up.
MECHANICAL
This car runs out very strong. Engine is smooth and responsive, and the 4-speed automatic transmission shifts smooth and firm. Tires were just replaced approximately 50 miles ago and ride is exceptionally smooth. This car rides quietly with no suspension or drivetrain noises. Tracks and brakes straight with no brake pulsation. New battery installed at purchase.
