159k miles, runs great, clean title in hand. Diesel 300SD. Only 2 owners over it's lifespan! This car has been well maintained. Reliable with an immaculate body, inside and out. Located in Portland, OR, come check it out and feel free to ask any questions! Comes with a Clifford II in-car security system (pictured).
The engine and transmission are solid. It has a few hassles: There is a manageable water leak in the trunk that we believe is coming from the gas filler neck sealand rear window. This a new development (it was previously stored in a garage near the California border for many years) so no long-term water damage. The gas gauge is also currently nonfunctional, and the car needs a refill every 300 miles (diesel only, and the trip meter was reset when last filled). There's also a slow discharge of the battery when the vehicle is off due to an unknown drain, so the battery currently needs to be disconnected if sitting for longer than about two days (disconnect switch is installed, pictured).
Cashiers check or wire transfer are preferred.
The 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300SD is a W116 series luxury sedan known for its turbocharged, 5-cylinder, 3.0-liter diesel engine, producing around 123 horsepower. It is recognized for a smooth ride, good fuel economy, and solid build quality for its time. While listed on the title as a 1981, it's 14-digit VIN indicates it was manufactured before the official mandate for 17-digit VINs (implemented January 1, 1981). Was previously listed incorrectly as a Euro model, but believed to have been manufactured for the Canadian market instead. Temperature control is in Celsius.
