This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series wagon is a collector's dream come true. With a beautiful red exterior and brown interior, this car has been well-maintained and has a clean vehicle title. It has a 318555 mileage and a 6-cylinder, 3L diesel engine that runs smoothly. The car has a left-hand drive and is a 2WD. The 300-Series is a classic model from Germany that has been admired for its beauty and functionality. This car has 5 seats, 4 doors, and has had only 1 previous owner. It comes with a service history available back to day 1 and is perfect for anyone who wants to add a touch of elegance to their collection. The car was originally sold new at Smyth European in December of 1979 to Dr Groves or Saratoga California. He daily drove the car up until 1997 when the vehicle was purchased by the Greer family. The car has been lovingly cared for since day one and is a time capsule. Every record back to the window sticker is complied in a binder that is over 2 inches thick!! Tens upon tens of thousands of dollars have been spent on this lovely estate. In 2009 the family commissioned MB Garage in Northern California to undergo a "driver" quality restoration. This included a full mechanical reseal and overhaul, full interior restoration, and a very time consuming class out repsray. All of this is fully documented and photographed in the records book that will come with the car. The car also has a long standing pedigree in the concourse world. It has won multiple awards at legends of the autobahn during the famed Monterey car week, has been shown 4 years at the Hillsborough concourse de elegance, taking 2nd and 3rd multiple years. It even won best of show at the Palo Alto Concourse de Elegance. This wagon is 100 percent rust free and has never lived outside, garage kept from day one. The car drives like a dream, cold starts are effortless, warm starts are amazing. Brakes are flawless and tight. Suspension is tight, confidence inspiring and fully rebuilt. The air conditioning system was rebuilt and works but is not the coldest not the warmest. The becker mexico radio works perfectly, all the electronics work like a dream. Its should be of note that a sway bar bracket in the rear does cause a slight grinding noise upon left hand turns. If time permits I will swap out before the vehicle is sold. Michelin tires are in great shape and have over 80 percent life. Electronic door locks work and all 4 windows roll up and down as they should. Trunk shocks hold the tailgate up as well
