Welcome to the listing of this 1983 Mercedes Benz 300TD. I've owned this car for the last 4 years and am very sad to be selling it as it has been my daily driver for the entire time I've owned it. I am moving and will not be in need of a car anymore. The history I know is that this car spent it's entire life in Southern California until I purchased it and moved to Washington with it.
Exterior:
The 300TD comes wrapped in a flat matte black vinyl that was poorly applied by me just 2 years ago. It looked really great for a while but now it cracked and thinning in many places.
The original blue paint beneath the wrap is not in great condition, which is why the decision was made to give it a fresh, new look with the wrap.
Apart from the poor paint condition, there is a dent on the front passengers quarter panel made by the last owners dog. It is currently filled with bondo under the wrap (approx 3in diameter, 0.5in deep dent.)
All the lights (apart from the fog lights) have been replaced with LED lights and have no issues in their function.
Condition:
Labeling this car as in "fair shape" might be modest. It runs and drives. The body, while overall solid, has its fair share of blemishes and imperfections, which are to be expected.
It has had all the regular maintenance one would expect. Fluids changed regularly, all CV boots are crack free and turn smoothly. Filters changes less than a year ago.
The Heat does work. The AC does not. The Temperature Control module does not engage the AC motor and the car has never been converted to R-134A (still R-12).
Sound system works well. it has a slim subwoofer bolted the the back seat as seen in the picture.
Tires are in fair condition. The front ones will need to be replaced earlier than expected due to uneven wear caused by worn ball joints that have since been replaced.
Additional Information:I understand that buying a car, especially one with such history and character, is a significant decision. I am more than happy to provide further information, answer any questions, or arrange a meeting. I am available for video calls or in-person meet-ups for serious buyers who wish to explore this beauty further.
I'd prefer local pickup. I will consider driving it to you if compensated.
