1972 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Additional Info:

Hi all -
Selling my 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350 SL. 1972 was the first year of R107 U.S. production. These were badged as 350's but are really 450's.
Beautiful Tobacco brown color with 137K Miles. Manufactured in September 1971 and one of the first 775 to be produced for the U.S.! While I'm not an aficianado, I'm told that is pretty rare.
Tons of work completed prior to me purchasing. Car is beautiful and drives great for a 50+ year old classic! This car is great for drivng around town, grabbing ice cream or just admiring it in your driveway. I drove it every nice weekend in the Fall and so far this Spring.Located in NJ and selling as-is.
I love it but I’m not mechanically inclined and have found it difficult to find mechanics that will provide routine maintenance for classic cars. Given it’s a low VIN #, it deserves someone with the knowledge and expertise who can continue to improve/restore.
Also, if seriously interested, more than happy to post/send additional photos.Highlights:Recent Exterior Upgrades: (1) Extensive work to the underbody, including new flooring/metal work under seating compartments. This was needed due to rust. (2) New soft top (3) New alternator (4) New battery (5) Re-painted10-15 years ago
Recent Interior Upgrades: (1) Custom reupholstered seats (2) Custom new carpeting (3) Includes original Becker stereo that is operational (not installed) (4) New exhaust (5) New fuel injectors (although I’m pretty sure not the correct ones)
Records: Unfortunately, 99% of the work was done by previous owners and I don’t have their paperwork.
Issues I’m aware of not in pics: Full disclosure – I am probably the least mechanical MB owner in this group! (1) Takes 10 mins to warm-up, otherwise is a bit rough. Completely fine after 10 mins (2) Small crack in windshield (3) Some wiring issues impacting the dash lights and blinkers at night - think this is a simple fuse issue (4) Cracks in dash from sun (5) Some additional rust on underbody (6) No A/C -- but its a convertible!
More than happy to answer any questions.
