Now available is this beautifully patina'd 1964 MB 230SL Pagoda. This vintage SL is a classic gem waiting for the right collector to come around. The Ivory paint (050) is believed to be the original coat as well as the top and hubcaps which are also ivory (050).Remarkably original and unmolested, it presents itself as a refreshing honest driver. Never restored because it never needed to be, it is uncommon to find such an original car that presents patina this nicely.
The interior presents itself as a true driver standard with seats, door panels, and dash in good condition. The steering wheel is beginning to show its age as the wood is beginning to show surface cracks. Original square weave carpets lay beneath the seats and is still solid although it is the original carpet so it has began to age as well. All gauges, lights and switched operate as intended. This Pagoda came equipped with A/C which still bows. Pagoda top and headliner are in good condition, no leaks or cracks the glass.
Mechanically, this W113 is well sorted. Mainly original, but healthy as ever. A true turn key driver that wears its patina proudly and fortunately, invites itself to be driven unlike an overly restored 230SL. The 2.3L M127 inline 6 starts with no negotiation required and is mated to the fluid coupled 4 speed automatic transmission. This SL is missing the factory radio but all in all it is a clean example of a driver that wears its patina proudly. Minimal rust beginning to develop on the rear passenger quarter panel as seen in photos.
The W113 Pagoda exudes a timeless, understated elegance and this example would be welcomed by any enthusiast looking for a driver quality W113. Ready to be driven and enjoyed.
