1979 Imported by Case as MB4/94 a Mercedes Benz Unimog 406. Approximately 15,200 miles on a working odometer. Approximately 1,400 hours on a working hour meter. 6 cylinder diesel runs great and starts easily. Clutch and 20 speed gearing works as it should. PTO front and rear work as it should. Hydraulics front and rear works as it should, though some quick couplings need lubed for easier connecting. Three point hitch on rear works as it should. Brakes work, but braking at speed, the truck will pull to one side or the other. Power steering is inoperable because the fluid leaks out of either the gearbox or pump - not sure haven’t put time into it. Non-dump flat bed. Tires are weather-checked / dry rot. I’ve never added air to any of them. Some surface rust and some rot in the cab floor driver’s side. I have new floor board panels (they have surface rust from sitting). There is a mounting plate for the front, used for mounting attachments.
Pleas be sure to know what you are bidding on. I’ve given a description to the best of my ability, but make no guarantees. I am happy to answer other questions or send pics and videos of the truck in operation. The truck has a max speed of about 47mph. I have a clear title in my name and had it registered and insured. I drove it to town weekly, but recent life changes have left the truck unused. Yes, it can be driven as it is. No, I would not drive it home unless you are local. Sure, it is able to make it across the country, but not really meant for highway travel.
I am not an expert on Unimogs. I drove this truck regularly and enjoyed it immensely, but because of changes in life, no longer use it. It was a great truck for me and fit my needs, but it is an unusual truck and 44 years old. Because of that, I make no guarantees about anything specific. Would be happy to send pictures or videos to anyone who is serious and messages me a mobile phone number.
