FOR SALE IS A VERY SPECIAL 1982 Mercedes Benz 380SL. GOOD LUCK FINDING ON LIKE THIS! It has been pretty much one family owned since new and locally owned all its life. The previous owner kept detailed records of everything. From the original books, manuals, data plate, and even original sales sheet from the dealer are all available. It was purchased brand new at Smythe European in San Jose, CA then was brought down to Carmel, CA where it remained all its life. The car is finished in a very rare blue metallic paired with palomino leather interior. The interior of this vehicle is virtually flawless and in great condition with no signs of excessive wear. Looks better than ones with very low miles! Carpets are flawless, very nice floor mats, the seats are in great shape and so is the dash. Exterior is in excellent condition. Paint is deep and glossy. I believe most of it is original, it has minor imperfections you can see in the video. Mechanically it runs and drives great. Odometer reads 125K Miles. The motor is very healthy, sounds great and has plenty of power.Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The previous owner took it to two different high end mechanics, he gave them a blank check and told each one of them to fix everything mechanically. So we have had around 15K of recent services in the past recent years. A/C blows cold. Everything should be working well. New tires remained in the garage. The timing chain they were told was done when they bought the car, but i do not have records to prove. There are no unusual drivetrain or suspension noises.
