1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Additional Info:
Fusion Motor Company proudly presents this highly sought-after 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman!!! This particular Pullman was delivered to the Libyan Development Company, reportedly for use by King Idris of Libya, and later spent time in Japan.
A refurbishment totaling over $150k was completed in 2014. Work included refinishing the body in black, reupholstering the Bamboo leather interior, renewing the burl wood trim, and overhauling the suspension, brakes, and exhaust system. The cabin is upholstered in Bamboo leather (249) with matching carpets and features burl wood trim, a front Becker Mexico radio, and a hydraulic system that powers the windows, central locks, and adjustment of the front and rear seats.
The cabin is divided by a half partition and inward-facing seats that were also reupholstered. Rear cabin equipment includes a speaker system, air conditioning controls, footrests, curtains, and a chilled drink cabinet in the center console.
Power is provided by a 6.3-liter M100 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The 6.3-liter M100 V8 features single overhead camshafts and Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Factory-rated output was 300 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted four-speed automatic transmission. The engine and transmission have been refurbished. A stainless steel Timevalve Manufacturing exhaust system has also been installed.
The car was used in the filming of the television series The Man in the High Castle. This 600 Pullman is now offered with the seller's service records, a tool kit and accessories, a car cover, a copy of the data card, and a clean Oregon title in the seller's name.
The 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman is considered a rare and highly sought-after vehicle. The Pullman variant of the Mercedes-Benz 600 was produced in limited numbers, as it was specifically designed for a niche market of high-ranking officials, heads of state, and dignitaries. Mercedes-Benz produced 428 long-wheelbase Pullman 600s between 1963 and 1981, with 304 being four-door variants.
