This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SL is a European-market example that was reportedly imported to California in 1985, and it spent time in Pennsylvania and Florida prior to the Star Motors 2016 acquisition. The car was refinished in 2019 in its original Classic White over Palomino leather. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes a color-matched removable hardtop, a tan soft top, an AMG body kit, AMG Penta-style 16 inch wheels, cruise control, power-adjustable mirrors, automatic climate control, and an aftermarket Alpine head unit. Recent service consisted of an engine oil change, recharging the air-conditioning system, and replacement of the battery and the spark plugs. This R107 is now offered in New York with factory literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title. A color-matched AMG body-kit, rear spoiler, and side skirts were reportedly fitted when new, and the exterior was refinished in June 2019 in its factory Classic White (737) with color-matched trim and bumpers. The body-color removable hardtop can be viewed in the photo gallery below along with the tan soft top shown in its raised position, and additional equipment includes European-specification headlights and front fog lights. The left headlight shows corrosion inside the bezel, and an invoice for the recent refurbishment is included in the gallery below. AMG Penta-style 16 inch alloy wheels are finished in silver with bright lips and wear 225/50 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 tires, which the star motors notes are in need of replacement. The interior features seats upholstered in Palomino leather with matching door panels and carpets, along with burl wood trim on the center console and two-tone dashboard dashboard. Factory equipment includes cruise control, power windows, and automatic climate control. A video is provided showing the operation of the aftermarket Alpine stereo. The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock, as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and instant economy. The six-digit odometer shows just under 54k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by star motors. The 5.0-liter M117 V8 produced 237 horsepower and 296 lb-ft of torque when new. An August 2019 service consisted of a tune up, an oil change, recharging the air-conditioning system, and replacement of the battery and spark plugs. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below. The August 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, and it lists history in Pennsylvania and Florida from 2002 through its most recent update in March 2016. An in-car video is provided below showing the car idling and driving footage. Trades welcome all items work as described. Dealer fee is $75.00. Bid with total confidence.
