1992 Brabus-Modified Mercedes-Benz 500SL
This 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500SL was sold new in California and was reportedly modified in 2006 by Brabus USA with the B11 performance kit. Finished in metallic silver over a black leather interior, the car shows 88k miles and is powered by a Brabus-modified 5.0L M119 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-retractable black soft top, polished 18″ Brabus wheels, H&R springs and Brabus shocks, power-adjustable seats, and an aftermarket sound system. This 500SL has a matching hard top, manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean title.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744U) with gray lower cladding, and features a power-retractable black soft top, a trunk spoiler, xenon headlights with wipers, clear front corner lenses, fog lamps, and Brabus badging on the hood, bumpers, sides, and trunk lid. A color-matching removable hard top is included in the sale, and 50+ detailed photos of the finish and trim can be viewed by emailing inthepaint@verizon.net.
Staggered-width 18″ Brabus Monoblock III wheels feature polished centers with chrome lips and are wrapped in Yokohama Avid Envigor tires. Suspension modifications are said to consist of Brabus sport shocks and H&R sport springs, while braking is handled by cross-drilled rotors.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather with matching carpets, while the dash, door panels, and center console are accented with burl wood veneer. Amenities include a Brabus shift knob and gate, polished stainless-steel door sills, a power-raising roll hoop, cruise control, power-adjustable seats, and automatic climate control.
The car is said to have been lined with Dynamat sound deadening material and fitted with an aftermarket sound system which includes the following:
White instrumentation framed by a wood-trimmed steering wheel consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, instant economy, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows just over 88k miles.
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was reportedly modified by Brabus with an air filter box, engine management system, camshafts, valve springs, cooling system, and muffler. Service performed under previous ownership is said to have included replacement of the radiator, transmission and engine mounts, timing chain tensioner, distributor cap, spark plugs, and battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Brabus-modified four-speed automatic transmission and limited-slip differential.
The May 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
