1973 Mercedes Benz 280 SEL 4.5. 4.5L gas V8, automatic. I bought this to restore but funding is not available at this time. only 8,100 of these were made for the US market, most have been consumed for parts. Im sure I cant cover everything, but here goes. major selling point: starts every single time, thanks to the Bosch fuel injection. glass is all good. power windows all work, albeit they go up very slowly. leather is all there, a few rips but no worn seats. trunk is intact, has hole in wheel well, no trunk lock, I paid MB to make me a key off the VIN, and another off the ignition key, neither worked. headliner good, needs pushed up in one spot. wood dash bow needs restored. mileage is exempt as odometer does not work. good rubber, two sets of nice hubcaps. have all outer chrome trim, badges, insignia, spare tire, original bilstein jack, bosch running lights. have cig. lighter and all ashtrays. top of rear door inner trim need replaced. desirable ivory steering wheel has cracks but is hard to find. horns dont work. headlights, turn signals work. some bodywork done, needs touched up, rust wasnt that bad. wipers work. subject to local sale, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. trade/cash offers will be considered, all i can do is say yes or no. ive only driven it about 20 miles in the last year, so I cant tell you it will or will not do a road trip. these are getting hard to find, its worth 1000's in parts alone. clear indiana title.
