1971 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class -- Additional Info:
1971 MERCEDES BENZ 280SL ROADSTER: --DB904 Midnight Blue with Tan interior, Tan carpeting, New Black convertible soft top, Factory hardtop, Factory air conditioning, 27,000 miles (43,000km’s), 2.8 liter inline 6-cylinder engine, Automatic transmission. Our history shows this 280SL having been owned by a Los Angeles, California resident, November 1970. At some point in the past 20 years, this 280 SL was in Belgian ownership where it was restored. Most recently, this 280SL has benefitted from comprehensive servicing during its long-term Northeast based collector ownership. It has been used regularly throughout the Spring and Summer seasons here on Long Island, its most recent enthusiast owner being a Southampton resident. It is an excellent driving example, always serviced and cared for properly and shows only the slightest light patina throughout. It is the charming Mercedes collectable classic to simply drive and enjoy. Cosmetically and mechanically refreshed, this 280SL is in excellent condition throughout. The interior presents well with only the slightest bit of wear. During the refreshing, it was chosen to install European headlamps with iconic Yellow French headlamps for the truly distinctive European Pagoda look. This 280 is fitted with an updated Mercedes-Benz radio and an Alpine speaker system. This 280 has benefitted from recent servicing and is complete with all books, tools, keys, spare tire, jack and service records. This is an excellent driving example, has always been cared for mechanically, has never sustained any accident damage and whose structure is superb. This 280SL represents a great value for a collector or enthusiast seeking an enjoyable and reliable vintage Mercedes Benz Roadster, it even has working factory air conditioning, not the norm for most 60's/70's sports cars.
