1994 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL 500 Additional Info:

Selling the car which is a hand me down from my Dad. He barely drove it when he had it and in the last several month that I have had it, it was driven by my wife to do basic grocery shopping. The car itself is a classic and a beautifully engineered car, back in the days when Benz made their components in Germany. This is a fun car and a car for someone who is mechanically inclined to tinker with it and show around to your local classic car club people. I hope that someone who can appreciate the car buys it.
Had a checkup with a mechanic last week and he cleaned some parts and said that there is no mechanical issues with driving the car.I have no issues with driving the car. Gets to speed great and handles great. It is a powerful car. The steering wheel needs alignment though but since we only use it for short trips did not bother with getting it properly aligned. The air condition works great. Power seat and windows work fine.
Remember that this is a old car and though it does not have lot of miles, you should still be realistic about the car.
Issues that I can think of
-the odometer stopped working around 2007-2009 and is stuck at 47,500; the car has been driven very little, I would estimate at most around 2,000 miles per year since 2007. I only noticed the odometer not working couple of days ago when trying to sell the car because it was being driven so little I did not realize that the miles were not going up
-hard top convertible button is broken. I don't know what the issue is. The last time we took the top down, maybe around 5-6 years ago, no issues with it, but in the interim it seems that the button is pushed into the console area (I took a picture of it for the upload)
-antennae does not go up-trunk does not stay up, I use a stick to prop it up; someone who is more mechanical should be able to fix it easily; the stick is included in the price-there is a electrical light indicator on the dashboard that is on; I have checked to see that the headlights and the break and signal lights are all working fine, so I am not sure why the indicator light is on-there are minor scratches on the car, the main noticeable one is on the right front wheel area-CD player is after market
If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
