This 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SL has 22k miles and is finished in the classic Black over Mushroom interior.
It was purchased by the current owners 12/17/01 from Mercedes of Cincinnati with 14,525 miles and was a prized posession for it’s owner who only drove it sparingly in fair weather and was always covered while garaged.
July 30, 2002 (15,086 miles) it was serviced for an oil and filter change at M-B of Cincinnati and found to have worn sub-frame mounts. In late August/early September of 2002 a front sub frame mount kit and new front shocks were purchased and installed by an independent shop.
Documents also show parts and labor for repair totaling just over $8000 in October of 2005 at 17,458 miles by Mercedes-Benz of West Chester, OH after a deer collided with the right front quarter. Items were either repaired or replaced with genuine OEM Mercedes-Benz parts. A 3000 mile oil and transmission service were also performed. The brake system was flushed as well as the cooling system and power steering system. The fuel filter was replaced.
In March of 2007 at 18,321 miles, a 3000 mile service was performed by M-B of West Chester, OH.
In April of 2013 at 21,274 miles it was serviced by M-B of West Chester, OH. It was taken in for a 3k miles oil change and to address the lit SRS indicator on the dash. The condition was diagnosed but due to repair cost and guidance from the dealer, was not performed. Right front headlights were adjusted for proper aiming.
7/25/18 at 22,139 miles it was serviced by Precision Motorcars of Cincinnati where some concerns were adressed including an inoperative speedometer and A/C. Refrigerant was topped up and no leaks were detected. A new battery was installed and the charging system was checked. The speedo and odo were separated and a refurbished speedometer fitted along with the original odometer. The antenna grommet was replaced.
Health concerns and advancing age dictated minimal useage from 2007 with the passing of the owner in 2018 finally moving the family to this sale with a clean Indiana title. Current mileage is 22,227.
Known current issues:
SRS dash light is intermittent. At last drive, it was not lit.
Radio has poor/non-existent reception but does play cassettes.
Tires need replacment due to age.
Pin stripes are peeling at each end on both sides.
Slight wear on outer drivers side lower bolster.
Slight dent on hard top - no paint damage - see photos
