Project Car that runs & drives!!! 500SEL

1985 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series SEL Additional Info:

Body & frame solid! Paint very good. Lots of power. No leaks. Doesn't use oil.

Things that work: Sun Roof, Power seats, Cruise control (intermittent), Power windows (3 out of 4, all but left back), Stereo & power antenna, All lights, new battery,

Issues: Tapping in engine (lifter?), slow to shift, A/C, steering loose, needs left front strut, mileage uncertain -last owner swears that the previous owners kept car in storage. Odometer is stuck on 147,570 miles. Missing ignition key bezel (wood trim piece). misc. squeaks and rattles. Seat position memory. Warning lights. Trying for complete honesty, how many used cars are listed with theissues?

Dealer recommended hoses & belts. I would recommend brakes.

Wheels need refinished, these would look awesomeblasted& clear coated!

This car could be driven as is! I drive it to work (60 mile round trip) fairly often. I bought it as a fixer upper, but decided I don't need another project. Selling as is, hey it's a 500SEL for under $2k!!
