1980 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 2 dr coupe Additional Info:
This is a no reserve auction. You are looking and maybe bidding on a 1980 Mercedes 300 CD diesel coupe.
A project that consists of a Florida car that is in driving condition with a good healthy engine ( oil pressure above 2.7 at operating temp), transmission shifts smooth a bit too smooth after I just changed the vacuum regulating valve that sits on top of the valve cover ( might need a adjustment since now it shift early through all gears, with no clunking noises)When I bought the car in 2016 I replaced the engine with a 165 k motor out of another 123 that I owned. The car has some dents and scratches, and the hood was replaced with the one you see in the pictureafter some one else drove my daily driver and hit the orig. hood and left headlight; which should be replaced.I drove this this car almost every day since I bought it, However it s been sitting for a few month now and needs to be restored to be back in shape; took it for a 10 mile ride today and worked on it a bit.The interior is in poor shape, I have the original door panel, but they are deformed and really need replacing I also have the rear seat etc. The 2 rear windows used to work but don t go down no, the door windows need to be installe, since the broke ( I have the one for the driver side that I purchased and get the one for the right side for about $ 60.00.I start the car by pre glowing it by hand manually in the engine compartment and purchased a glow unit of a newer model that has to be installed as well as hooking up a new ignition switch to engage the starter, that I should have as well as a spare orig engine that comes with this car ( had a slight rod knock but was still running)The windshield was recently replaced with a new one as well as a new seal etc, Compressor is not hooked up but was also replaced 3 years ago with a new one.
All in all this could be a drive-able restoration project, All gauges work as well as indicator lights except the odometer, that was replaced ones, there fore the mileage shown is not correct, it is more like 178 k.Have the orig books and service records used to be a real first owner car when I bought it, it is sad to see it like this and I regret ever letting the wrong folks drive it.My loss your gain, any questions I can be reached at 407 684 6192I can deliver and drive the vehicle up to 100 miles from Orlando for $ 1.50 per mile,
I recommend having it towed if you are unfamiliar with these vehiclesThank You for looking and good luck bidding
However it is time to move on and let someone else enjoy the restoration part of this once gorgeous carFor the buy it now price I will throw in an extra engine, and some new in the box parts worth alone the starting price
