Offered for sale is a classic, pre-war Mercedes-Benz sedan with dual side mounts, suicide doors, and roll backWebasto sunroof. It maintains many of its original parts including Bosch headlights, Sekurit glass, VDO speedometer marked T33 pVI, combination gage, and chrome trim inside and out. This car is a full AACA classic.
Its early life is unknown. This car was purchased as a basket case by the previous owner in the 1980s who installed a Chevy 350 V8, a solid rear axle, and late model seats. The original front seats were retained and are complete except for the passenger wooden frame bottom and back. The original drivers seat has a very early Keiper reclining mechanism. The steering wheel dates from the engine conversion, but the correct Bosch steering wheel is included.
The restoration is an older job performed by an amateur that wanted a road worthy car for touring. The paint is thin in spots, and there areareas wherebubbles are forming under the paint as shown. Otherwise the sheet metal is in verygood condition. The Chevy v8 starts right up and a new master cylinder ensures that it stops as well. Enjoy as is or restore it to its former glory.
