We sell all cars as-is, which means the buyer isresponsible for any and all repairs, according to the Ohio Buyer’s Guide (includes body, mechanical, frame and interior). We do our best to describe all vehicles as accurately as possible, but keep in mind that opinions may differ and that it’sthe buyer’s responsibility to inspect the car before bidding. We advise all bidders to get a third party to check out the vehicle if they can’t make it out themselves to ensure their complete satisfaction. This must be done before bidding. When you view the pictures of the vehicle, make sure you look at them on a large screen to ensure that you can see all attributes of the car. If the car starts and runs onto the truck, but it does not start at arrival, that is the buyer’s responsibility (cars may be damaged on a long, bouncy trip). Once the car is paid for, all buyers should put insurance on it because they now own the car. We will work with your shipper or you can call Mike, our shipper, for a rate at 970-300-1020. We leave all buyers positive feedback. All sales are final.
Thank you for looking at our 1979 Mercedes 450 SL convertible. This is really really a nice car. It's black with black leather interior. The car is from California and it has not been through Cleveland winters. Actually, the car is from Canton, OH. It was purchased as a summer toy. The 89K miles are actual. The body of the car is in great shape and looks exactly like the pictures. The underneath of the car is all solid, not rusty at all. I did see one tiny little spot, barely worth mentioning. The interior, for a 40 year old car, couldn't be nicer than this one is. The convertible top is new from a couple years ago, and the hardtop is in good shape.
It comes with the car and will be on the car when it's either picked up or delivered. This car starts easily, drives nicely, and it's a great cruiser. The engine and transmission operate correctly, all 4 tires are in good shape, the brakes are to the top, the front end goes straight down the road with zero play, no rear end noise at all, the lights work, the radio works, radio antenna works, both power windows work correctly, and everything about this car is just really really nice.
The panel on the backseat of the driver's seat came loose. It could either be glued or screwed on correctly. The original first aid kid is still in the backseat. All the aluminum wheels are in good shape and the chrome bumpers are also in good shape, which you would expect from a California car. The only mechanical repair it's going to need is, (if you want to fix it), a donut gasket toward the top of the manifold from the exhaust, we just never got it fixed because it never really was loud enough to bother me. If you're looking for a really nice car to drive on weekends or drive everyday, this 89K mile Mercedes is ready to roll.
