1972 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Additional Info:
1972 Mercedes 350 SLC Pro Street . This is the first year of this body (113) style. Since it is also a coupe and not an SL it is more rare and stronger than the Sl. This car began its life with a 3,5 liter v-8. I managed to shoe horn in a 1968 7 liter (427) BBC. The motor is no where near its potential as far as horse power. Basically I believe the motor as is produces 425-450 HP, The motor is balanced and blue printed with a forged steel crank shaft. The exhaust is cast iron manifolds, but they do not leak. The heads are Oval ports and not ported or polished, very road worthy. The front suspension is a Mustang II with tubular stainless A arms upper and lower, the brakes are disc an with 5 lug rotors. The steering is handled by a Flaming River rack and pinion, manual. The rear suspension is coil over shock Competition Engineering 4 link. The differential is a narrowed Ford 31 spline 9" with Disc brakes. The transmission is a double overdrive TKO 6 speed with 11" clutch. The tires have less than 200 miles and are mounted on Weld Pro Star wheels, 6" fronts and 12" rears. The car is braced / channeled with original cross members front and rear as original, her is no roll bar or cage, or rear seat, the 17" Aluminum wheel tubs kinda eliminated the rear seat, Any other questions and or need for more Pictures Please ask. This a home built hot rod and it has many modifications
