1971 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 280 SL Additional Info:
The history on this 1971 Mercedes 280SL from about 2005 until now needs to be told. So here it is. Husband and wife buy the car in about 2005 and hire a restoration person who also works at a Mercedes dealership. The restoration got 85% to 90% complete before he dies unexpectedly. The owners of the car can't finish the restoration so they store the car in their climate controlled garage for 10 years. They told me they wanted to sell it and I ended up with it. I restore street rods and GM classics, not Mercedes. The work on this car is ofhigh quality. Body is very straight, paint work is good, starts and runs good. Automatic transmission is also good. Leather interior is approximately 80% complete. Has both tops, complete new brake system, including master cylinder. No leaks, or rust. Tires are full tread but 10 years old. It wouldn't take much for a Mercedes guy to finish this car. Most of the parts to finish the car are in the picture. All the hard work on the car is actually done. Thanks, Jim.
