1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:
Hello All: Up for auction today is my 1984 Mercedes Benz 300sd, car runs & drives as it should. Valves were just adjusted. Compression test was done and compression is perfect. Car is showing 417,459 however at 315,450 miles, there was another low mileage engine with 90,000 miles installed in car (stated by previous owner) That being said,My mechanic and I would estimate this engine now has 192,000 miles on it. (Car was bought from Casualty Insurance because of several hail damage spots on the car. (No salvage title) I bought this car to restore because I love the w126 body however I have several other cars that require my attention and I need to focus my time there, so this car is now for sale. Since I have owned the car, I have driven the car approx. 3500 miles and it is a blast to drive. Here is the best description that I have for the vehicle. I installed an aftermarket radio in it because the original Becker radio didn't work. No holes in leather (see pics), Tires are about 70%. Heat works perfectly. AC works however the compressor has a light rattle (as most do because of the poor quality of these compressors (also may have a blockage in line) sunroof works as it should. Lights work as they should. The seat belt receivers of hard to clasp. On the passenger side, there are 3 very small bubbles above the trim of the car. Car has just had a new battery installed with warranty, Master Cylinder, pads. I have noticed that if the car sits for a long period, it takes a few miles to build pressure in the vacuum pump ( My mechanic indicated that several months ago but it doesn't harm the mechanics of car). It is becoming harder and harder to find these w126 bodies in this condition. This car has been a southern car and is very Solid with no rust. This car has been owned by myself the past year and previously was also a non smoker. There is a crack across the top of windshield but doesn't interfere with safety or inspections. Car is ready to be driven. While I have driven the car locally for 3500 miles, keep in mind it is still a 34 year old car and these cars always need attention. Car has just had oil change about 1200 miles ago, new belts. Again, Car is ready to go. You will have to see engine in person to believe how clean the car is. I have owned over 30 diesel Mercedes and this has to be the cleanest I have ever seen/owned. The paint shines and is a presentable car. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and if not Happy Bidding/Looking. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early if vehicle sells locally. Car may also be inspected prior to auction end. If you have 0 feedback (you need to contact me prior to submitted offer or buy it now. Please don't waste my time with questions that are already stated in the listing. If you buy it now or an accepted offer is accepted, be prepared to follow through with the transaction.
Thank you in advance.
