1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:
1985 MERCEDES BENZ 300D TURBO 114K ORG MILES TWO OWNER CALIF / ARIZONA CAR NICE!
For your consideration is one very nice two owner low mile 1984 Mercedes Benz W123 Chassis 300D Turbo Diesel Sedan in #473 Champagne Gold Metallic with a Palomino colored interior which was purchased new from Beverly Hills Mercedes Benz in 1984 by a lady that lived in Brentwood California where the car lived all its life until 2 years ago when we purchased it. We had it transported to our place in Arizona where it stayed there and was hardly driven! With only 114,881 original miles this car is still practically a new car! The car was garaged all its life and it shows! The condition of the dash is the real proof being amazingly free from cracks with the beautiful Zebrano wood trim pieces located on both the dash and center console areas all being amazingly in mint condition as well! All of these important little details speak for themselves! These interior trim pieces are truly in like brand new condition with the rest of the Palomino colored interior following suite as well being in near mint condition being free from discoloration, rips, tears, stains, excessive sun fading or heat damage with the inside window surround door trim being amazingly free from heat shrinkage damage as well which is very common on these particular Mercedes Benz models. In fact the only minor flaw that is even really that noticeable is one small normal usage wear spot on the lower left hand side of the drivers seat back rest cover which could quite easily be repaired if desired. The original carpet is in beautiful condition as well being free from heavy wear or holes as is the complete headliner assembly including the headliner material on the sunroof panel! The rear hat shelf, hat shelf speaker covers and the Emergency kit compartment lid are all in beautiful undamaged condition as well. Of course the former lady owner as she got older ended up over time giving the exterior of the car a fair amount of bumps and bruises in the obvious corners expected of a little old lady all of which are basically minor fender dings and rubs which are the obvious cosmetic issues that you see in the attached pictures none of which are major issues. Most noticeable is the fender bender area located on the central area of the left front fender just above the wheel opening surround and the rub area in the upper edge of the right rear quarter panel extension and the small dent that is located in the lower part of the same quarter panel extension below the right rear taillight assembly with the rest of the body on car being nice and straight! The exterior paint is in over all very nice condition for the age having an over all very nice luster to it. Most all of the exterior chrome and aluminum trim on the car is in beautiful condition with the front grille assembly and both front and rear bumper cover chrome pieces being dent and heavy scratch free having a very nice luster. The car is basically rust free as you would expect a California / Arizona car to be with the only very minor exception being one small area of surface only rust on the one high edge spot on the left front fender where she scratched the paint down to the bare metal. Additionally there is one more surface only rust spot which is located just below the rear window aluminum surround trim on the passenger side. I must again stress that these are surface only rust spots and not rust-through type spots. There is no visible rust located anywhere else on the rest of the car with the lower parts of the doors, the door jams, the rear trunk area, all underside floor panels, the firewall and all four wheel wells all being free from any form of rust or erosion with all the factory undercoating still being fully in tact! The engine bay is nice and clean and the car starts right up and runs like a new car! It has excellent power, and shifts smooth timely and proper. The steering is tight and the suspension is controlled and supple. It brakes well without pulling or pulsations. The car is equipped with the Original Becker Grand Prix Electronic AM/FM Stereo Radio with Cassette Player, Original Hirschman Electric Power antenna, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Brakes, Cruise Control, Power Sunroof and Factory installed A/C but a new A/C compressor will need to be installed and the A/C system will then need to be recharged in order for the A/C system to be fully functional again. I would also like to ad that this is a very common issue found on most all of the older Mercedes Benz vehicles. This car will be a great car for someone to care for and enjoy easily for the next 20+ years! The original owners manual packet is included with the car. The Original Mercedes Benz Maintenance Booklet has a complete record of all the services done on the car at W.I. Simonson Inc. located in Santa Monica CA. which is a very well known Authorized Mercedes Benz Dealer. This alone is testament enough to the undisputed documented proof of the love and care of a proud owner!
