What a fantastic 300D. I found this particular 300D at a church charity event in Southern California. The car was purchased from the original owners.
I have been collecting high quality vintage Mercedes for years, and this car does not disappoint.
No paint oxidation from the California sun, no peeling, significant scratches, dents, etc. The car lived in a dry climate all its’ life and reaped all the benefits of a dry climate without the negatives.
The paint is beautiful, the car is very very dry. The interior is still soft and supple. The dash is free of any cracks or shrinkage. The wood veneers are perfect with no lifting or delamination.
The vacuum system all works as it should. Locks work as they should, even the trunk and gas door locks. Cosmoline is still present on the undercarriage and engine (a factory rust preventative applied at the factory)
Windows all open and close swiftly. Roof works as it should. A/C is ice cold, heat is hot.
The car surely shows as a very well cared for 40k mile car. These OM617’s are known as the “million mile motor”, and although I think that is optimistic, you commonly see these in the 200k to 300k mile range.
You very rarely see something so nice with such low verifiable miles. (Service records, stamped maintenance log) The 37 year old medical kit still sits untouched.
The car was completely serviced, including valve adjustment, brakes, etc.
New tires on the perfect original Bundt wheels. The original Becker Mexico radio works like new.
This is a blue chip investment grade car will be the last car you will ever buy.
I have this car advertised on other forums and venues at $15,900 and I think that is very fair.
This auction will be ended in the event of a sale outside of eBay.
I am a avid Mercedes collector and know these cars very well. This car does not disappoint.
Payment is due within 3 days of auction close. All inspections should be done before the end of the auction. Payment via wire transfer or cash. I have some wonderful shippers that I have worked with over the years and would be happy to help with shipping.
I have a very good reputation for accurately describing what I sell, this... coupled with my accrued knowledge of the W123 chassis... will make sure you are getting a quality car.
