I present to you today my 1982 Mercedes Benz 380 SEL with 88,6xx miles or so, this will go up as I drive her 100ish miles or so a week to stretch the legs out.
This vehicle is in good condition finished in black paint over a black interior with wood touches all around. I have all carpet floor mats as well as a set of rubber floor mats I just threw in recently to preserve the carpet ones. This vehicle includes the First - Aid kit in its entirety and I have all reason to believe it is the O.E. kit. There are only a few aftermarket touches to this vehicle, most notably the LED headlights I have had installed and aimed to produce the most effective light possible. The O.E. equipment headlights have been preserved however and will be included.
She is 35 years old and shows that in a few areas here and there, but is a fine example cosmetically and does not run like she is 35 years old... subtract 30 years from that and that is how she feels going down the road.
I purchased this Mercedes at the beginning of this summer from a collector in South Dakota who had owned this vehicle as well as many others and kept them in great shape.
The vehicle had been sitting in his collection without any real mileage put on hence the low miles for a 35 year old car (check the Carfax, I believe this to be true mileage). Due to it sitting for so long without being driven much, and my plans on driving it throughout the summer I had a master mechanic in the vintage Mercedes sector go through the entire vehicle. This was a bittersweet step in the process as it was not cheap (around $7500-8000 in repair receipts). Nevertheless, the car runs like a top now. I would be more than happy to share the receipts with you or answer any specific questions you may have.
A brief run down of what was fixed/flushed/replaced
My original intentions were to get the vehicle running well enough to drive often (completed) and to potentially alter the aesthetic of the car with lowering springs and AMG body panels/wheels (not completed)
Which leads me to answer the question everyone wants to know "why sell". I am selling her due to the fact that I just moved downtown Chicago and winter is upon us. I have no issue keeping the car in a garage in the suburbs, but it pains me to have it sit while someone else could enjoy it. My loss can truly be your gain.
I am sure there are many more things that have been done/replaced/fixed to the vehicle and I would be more than happy to speak on specifics. Please shoot me a message with any questions.
The car can be picked up in person or shipped at buyers expense.
