I am very reluctant to sell this car. I have spent the last 10 years making it as perfect as possible. Here is the story- this car belonged to a friend of mine. He was a Mercedes mechanic. I purchased it from him and he died on a motorcycle crash a few months later. After he passed, I began working for a Mercedes-Benz dealership. Anything this car needed, it got. Everything was done with EOM Mercedes-Benz parts from the dealership. I have gone through everything to make sure its in top shape. My whole situation changed about 2 years ago. I met a woman with a now 4 year old, and we had a child a year ago. Since my little girl was born, my whole outlook has changed and I am ready to move on and use the money for my kids.
EVERYTHING is documented with receipts and pictures. I have hundreds of pictures. Let me know if you want any specific pictures. This car isn't perfect because I don't believe in sitting a car in the garage. I drove this car, not everyday, but at least a couple times a month.
Here are some of the highlights from my huge book of receipts.
6/22/2017- 192,301 miles- Distributors, caps and rotors replaced.9/19/2016- 190,240 miles- Catalytic Converter replaced, muffler and all exhaust replaced.10/15/2015-188,219 miles- Replaced fuel pressure regulator and purge valve9/30/2014- 186,059 miles- Spark plugs and coil wires, ignition coils, Distributor Caps and rotors, Crankshaft Position Sensor, PCV hoses, 4 Michelin Tires, Front shocks, strut tops, boots, bump stops and hardware, Front Springs and spring pads, Front lower control arms complete with bushings and ball joints, sway bar bushings, caps and hardware, both fuel pumps, valves, lines and hose clamps, both flex discs, front wheel speed sensors and brake harnesses and all hardware, front wheel bearings and dust caps and seals, alignment, left front window regulator, rear shocks and hardware, rear spring pads, left and right door checks, seals and hardware, replaced transmission and transmission insulation, kick down switch, and both flex cooler hoses.5/27/2015- 184,823 miles- Buzzer relay, oil pressure sender unit, combination switch, headlight switch, negative battery cable, purge valve and charcoal canister filter.12/31/2013- 184,140 miles- Radiator, coolant reservoir, cap and hoses, radiator surround and all plastic parts replaced, brake fluid reservoir and flex lines, washer fluid reservoir, cap, pump seals and level sensor, front windshield, rubber trim around wiper assembly and all new seals and trim around, evaporator and heater core (when dash was out, we replaced everything we could think of like all dash light bulbs, seals from heater box to firewall, etc. New Blower motor and regulator, dust filters, new AC push button control panel, new rearview mirror, and new hood pad.6/12/2013- 178,304 miles- tire rod ends inner and outer, power steering pump.7/20/2012- 172,551 miles- complete repaint at Atlanta Classic Cars Collision Center. Windows and all trim removed. New headliner installed, all trim around windows, mirrors, etc was replaced. All clips for side panels replaced.
I'll stop here, but I have more records going back further.
As you can tell though, from under dash forward, underneath, suspension all new exhaust, trim, paint, etc. This is a SOLID running car. You can start it up and go anywhere.
This has to be one of the nicest W124 E420's around.
