Here is a clean and original sample of the 1992 Mercedes 400E Sedan. This is a rare V8 sedan with an excellent running engine and straight rust free body. I have run out of space and decided to reduce my collection and will be listing other Mercedes' on ebay this week. I will be listing a 1989 Mercedes 300SE Mint Condition with 181k miles, a 1995 E320 Wagon with 159K miles, a 1994 E320 Sedan white with Navy leather 180k miles, and 2005 Mercedes ML350 Special Edition 109k miles and a 2003 SL500 black on black with panoramic roof and 89K miles. The exterior of this Mercedes is finished in a factory teal color which has been repainted twice and is once again faded. This vehicle has been sitting outside in the dry heat and it has taken a toll on the paint finish. All the chrome, plastics, and glass are in good condition. The vehicle is ready for new paint with no rust or other damages.
The interior is finished in Palomino leather. The back seat is in good condition. The front seat bottoms have been redone but the passenger seat back is in need of more work. The Sun has taken a great toll on the front seats, front door panels and all wood. The wood has warped on the center console and door panels. The dashboard and the wood on the dashboard are in good shape and the dash is free from any cracks or discoloration. Power windows and sunroof work as designed, the vacuumlocks are not working, the pump is working but there are leaks in the system. Climate Control System operates and the AC cold.
Mechanically speaking, this sedan runs and drives fantastic with smooth shifts up and down and a very strong power plant. There are no leaks or drive-abilityissues. It feels amazing with plenty of power and a very strong chassis. The car is quick with the secure feeling you would expect from an older german sedan. Four matching tires in good condition on factory alloy wheels. No shakes or shimmies and drives great in the city and on the highway.
This car is a great project car for restoration and or daily use. Nothing is needed to start driving today as commuter. Mechanically this car shines but your efforts and money will be spent on the paint and interior. A great starting point, or just a fun car to have as it sits.
