PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BEFORE BIDDING!!! This excellent looking and rust free southern Mercedes 300SD with only 139K Miles is for sale. We bought it from a local Mercedes dealer. This car is in great condition, especially considering the age. The paint is still excellent and shines well. There may be a door ding somewhere but I couldn't find one. If this was a repaint it was done very well, but I do not know. There is some minor paint fade on the driver rear view mirror which is pictured. There is no notable rust anywhere. The interior is also excellent and is exceptionally clean. The driver and front passenger seats have the minor, typical for this car, loose stitching, but are otherwise in great condition. The rear seat is excellent and very clean. Please see the pictures. The carpets and mats are excellent and, again, exceptionally clean. There is some aging of the wood surround of the gear shift which is pictured.This car was well kept.
The 3.5 six cylinder diesel engine starts and runs as new. It starts easy and runs excellent with no issues at all and no warning lights. These engines are known for being durable and long lasting, and this one is just getting started at 139k miles. The automatic transmission shifts well without any problems in all forward gears. THE REVERSE IN THIS CAR IS WEAK. It will back up but the RPMs have to be between 2500 and 3000. This is a very common problem for these cars of this year. Please keep this in mind. It is the only notable fault with this car. It will drive excellently all day in all forward gears, across country if needed. It sits on a near new set of Michlens.
This is a Mercedes, so it has about all luxury features of the era, and they all work, down to the pneumatic door locks and power windshield rear view mirror. The heat is hot and the air conditioning is cold. The sunroof and rear visor vanity mirrors work as designed. Even the radio and antenna work. All pneumatic soft close doors work except the driver door, common. It closes very well normally.
So, if you like the 1993 S class diesel and can repair the transmission reverse, or overlook, this is about the best example I have seen. Please ask any questions you have.
