1991 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Additional Info:

Great running, rust-free car with lots of recent work.
Lots more photos, including under-body shots, are here:
1991 300E photos
In my ownership (since January 2016), I've replaced the following:Spark plugs, coil, wires, cap and rotorHead gasket, valve cover gasket4 new Michelin tiresNew windshieldBosch alternatorOxygen sensorFuel injectorsFuel filter and fuel accumulatorCruise control amplifier (rebuilt unit installed)Transmission fluid and filterUnderhood padMirror bootsShifter bushingsRear differential fluidAll bulbs in instrument clusterOil pressure senderRear control arm bushingsRear shocksHVAC vacuum actuatorsSerpentine beltMAS relay, OVP relay
In addition, this is a partial list of work the previous owner did in the last 4 years:
Tie rodsSteering damperA/C evaporator, receiver/dryer and expansion valveAll brake padsTransmission K1 springFront flex diskDriver's door lockCoolant hosesShock tower mounts
Everything on the car works. The power seats, the sunroof, all the windows, the locks, even the factory alarm, everything! All dash lights come on when started and then go out. The car starts on the first try. The A/C blows cold (40 deg. F or less at the center vents) and the automatic climate control works correctly because all six vacuum actuators were replaced last fall. The A/C evaporator has also been replaced. Also, in spite of what I've read online about second gear start in 1991 models, this car always starts moving in first gear.
The car is all stock except for as follows: The previous owner installed the Euro-style headlamps and retrofitted them with Xenon bulbs. They work great but the provisions for the original headlamp wiper/washers are still in place, as you can see in the photos. I meant to refit new wipers to the Euro style lamps but never got around to it. The previous owner also tinted the windows. The original stereo is gone but has been replaced with a Kenwood receiver that's Apple and Android compatible and has hands-free calling with Bluetooth. It works great. The rest of the stereo system is original. I added a keyless remote to lock/unlock the doors remotely. I also added a couple of Buick Park Avenue horns for that authoritative sound, but the original horns are still on the car, just not connected. The original first aid kit is unopened and it looks like the spare has never been used, if those matter to you.
I'd rate the interior about 8.5 to 9 out of 10 and I'd call the exterior about a 7 out of 10. The body is mostly ding-free but the clear coat is a little tired in spots. It's shiny but has a few minor flaws. I had the hood repainted to fix a clearcoat issue on it and they did a fair, not great job.
The car is also for sale locally. I will cancel bids of buyers with 0 or very low feedback.
