1981 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:
Originally manufactured for the foreign market this car has a vin number of 12318310017370 which is on the title. But because of it's foreign number EBay's search engine didn't recognize it. So called EBay's tech and he said to list it with the number above. Its had several owners in the states and the title has not been an issue. for your own concerns run the number through your sheriff's department to verity its accuracy. This old pooch is for parts or restore. I drove it daily for a few months and parked it in the pasture. Its been sitting for about 7 years so its mousey. It started up after pumping up the primer a few times. It runs and drives and stops, but its tired and going to need some TLC to depend on it. The odometer quit just before I parked it so the mileage is close. But it lasted long enough to confirm it was getting 40 MPG. Four cylinder diesel (non turbo) 4 peed manual transmission with around 230,000 miles. Body is straight and solid except tailgate has some cancer. I cant open the tailgate for some reason. I think the seal has bonded to the tailgate. It needs a battery but I have a loner to drive it onto a trailer. Has sun roof, pretty fair interior but the dash is cracked and head liner sags here and there. It has good glass and all the windows go up and down. Drivers door doesn't stay shut. The European front bumper is broke but I have a good American 5 MPH bumper that goes with it. Tires hold air but weather checked. I'd be happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking.
