1972 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Additional Info:
Running, driving vehicle in good condition.
This would be a very easy restoration for a daily driver and has show car potential for those with attention to detail and the means to do so. Starts and runs good. Brakes, suspension, steering and transmission all in good working order.
This car was originally sold by Beverly Hills Mercedes Benz.
All original owners manuals and maintenance documentation is present.
Mercedes Dealership maintenance records up to 50,917.
Floor pans, trunk and body are solid. Surface rust in the roof area as seen in the pictures. There is a small rust hole in the passenger front fender at the bottom. It looks like a drain hole stopped up and caused the issue. The rest of the body is solid.
All chrome trim is present and in good condition.
All factory trim pieces in the interior are present. Arm rests and dash cap are cracked. Seats are near perfect, no holes or tears or evident wear. Carper and headliner are also good.
Original Becker radio. Does not power up, have not looked into repairs.
Window motors all work, but are slow. I haven't tried to attempt to lube them, it is likely that is all they need.
Passenger front door latch sticks, does not always latch completely. No repair attempts have been made.
Blower motor switch is in-operative. Heat controls move freely and are not stuck.
PRNDL indicator sticks sometimes.
All wood trim is present but does need to be refinished.
Central vac lock system has a leak, I have not tracked it down.
Overall the interior is really nice.
You can see by the pictures the vehicle retains the original slight rake showing the suspension is still very good.
There is a wet appearance to the fuel pump like it may be seeping. It will be replaced before the auction ends.
Spare tire and tool kit are present. The four tires on the car will need replacement due to age cracking.
If you have any questions or need additional specific pictures, please ask.
We bought this vehicle to do a little body and paint work then to be our daily driver. Cancer reared its ugly head and wiped us out so we are unable to invest in this classic. We are hoping this goes to a good home and gets put back on the road. The car is so near to its former glory it would be a shame to see it parted out.
