1990 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series Additional Info:
MB enthusiast or mechanics special. Available immediately is a rare 190e 2.6 with 5 speed manual transmission.
When I purchased it, it wasn't in great condition. But unfortunately, with the problems that have arose, I have to decided to cut my losses with it.
If I had the time, money, and space, my plan would've been to swap a 3.0 engine in for a bit more torque.
If you want to keep this away from parts dismantler's hands, below is a list of the issues that will need to resolved:
* heater core leak (those who know, that is not a cheap or easy fix)
* passenger rear window regulator needs to be replaced. (easy but not worth my time at this point)
* engine misfire under load (only started happening after I found out about heater core leak. not sure if this has affected the head gasket or if there is an issue with the ignition of one of the cylinders. Idles smooth during warm up though!)
* driver window has trouble going down but will roll back up. (probably a track alignment issue)
- Note CA and other state emissions controlled buyers: registration only valid for another couple months. I will change registration status to PNO to save myself from further fees. Also, it does NOT have a recent smog test and I'm not sure if it will pass or not. Obviously I have passed smog in the past but I'm not sure what effect the misfiring under load will cause when smog testing. It will be buyer's responsibility to make any necessary repairs required to pass smog test.
