1959 Mercedes-Benz 220S Additional Info:

Very nicely kept 1959 Mercedes 220S. 3 Owners from new.
The car has had 1 respray in the original color, black, in its 58 years.
During the last 2 years it has had just minor upkeep done to it.
Newer parts are;
Both carburetors have been rebuilt
Both outer tie rod ends have been replaced.
All brake wheel cylinders have been replaced and updated.
New brake shoes all the way around.
There are new transmission mounts included, but not installed.
More stuff that was done to the car in the last few years;
Original front and rear bumpers were removed and had new chrome plating.
The carpet was redone, the fit is not great, but in the German Squareweave.
The rubber sill mats were replaced.
The seats, wood, headliner are all original.
This has the original engine and transmission. The engine runs very well and cool, has great oil pressure. The transmission shifts as it should and has no odd sounds or vibrations.
This car is in great condition for a mostly original car.
The paint is starting to show its age, as there are places where it is cracking. Most notably on the passenger side roof. I have included a picture. There is a small ding on the hood that I have also included a picture of. Below the trunk handle there is a spot that looks like it may have been tapped in a "braile parking" attempt.
There is NO rust on this car. There is no evidence of accident damage or repair. All the doors have excellent gaps and open and close as they should. The trunk and hood also have excellent gaps and they open and close with ease.
The chrome on the car is mostly original, with the exception of the bumpers. The door handles have crazing and the side trim in places, mostly below the passenger door window, has lost most of the chrome plating.
The glass on the car is original Sekurit on the side windows, vent windows, rear window (Duroglas, Sekurit). The front glass/windshield is Sigla with a Mercedes star in the bug.
Underneath the car is rust and damage free. Some oil leaks, but nothing major.
Has the original tool kit and jack with lug wrench. Good spare tire.
At some point in time, a new steering wheel was purchased from Mercedes.
So, the bad;
Both heater valves are stuck in the "ON" position, not leaking. Heater fan motor is not working. Turn signal indicators on top of the fenders need bulb holders, so are not working.
Clear and clean CA title in hand.

Please note, I put 4 cylinder in the item specifics, but the car has the original 6 cylinder engine that runs excellent. Has great power and oil pressure. The 190s had a 4 cylinder. all the 220s came with 6 cylinder engines. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
