1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:

I always wanted a Mercedes-Benz so I started looking for one I could afford a few years ago. I found this one on a lot with $2300 on the window. As I walked up to it I noticed the big rust holes in the doors and it didn't help it was the same color as a turd. I looked in at the odometer, 347122, I left. I looked at a few real pretty ones that didn't run or none of the options worked. My favorite was one that the turbo was attached with a c-clamp. I passed the lot and noticed a price drop to $1900. I stopped and looked at it again. It started right up and sounded good. It drove well but the odometer didn't work. The windows and heat worked, radio didn't but the cd player does and it has auxiliary plug. I drove it home and over the winter I drove it all over, I love my Mercedes. The first summer I patched the rust with fiberglass and painted it black. I noticed the sticker saying it had been converted to r134 so Ifixed the a/c. I replaced the oil pan and slowed the oil leak down. I figured out quickly the glow plugs sometimes fail to come on but it doesn't matter as long as the block heater is plugged in freezing weather. The love affair withered last year when I bought another Mercedes with no rust and low miles. I tried to sell this car locally and got no offers. I tried to auction the pretty one on here and got no bids but I did have a few people ask if it was a 5 cylinder. It has the 6 cylinder that seems to be less popular because of the aluminum head. This one has the 5 cylinder. I need to sell one of them. at this point it doesn't matter to me which one. I have the original wheels if the buyer would want them.
