The extra wear on the right rear black leather bench seat along with the solitary extra black floor mat occupying the right rear floor also with the pen holder attached to the turn signal stick would indicate “chauffer driven” to this grandson of a Mercedes chauffer. Interesting to note that a simple Google search shows Mr. Lake was a 1988-1989 contributor to USA’s Vice President elect Michael Pence’s early congressional campaigns which shows a certain “visionary” touch.

The second owner is listed in the MB maintenance book as another Indianapolis notable as Mr Thomas J Hibbeln.

Whether Mr. Lake and Mr. Hibbeln did the sale or trade of the automobile as friends or colleagues needs to be researched through the respective families.

The as built option code tag present in the engine compartment shows the following:
