This 1979 Mercedes Benz 300SD has approximately 360,000 miles and I've owned it for the last three years. There was one previous owner, and the car has lived a majority of its life in Southern California.
The 300SD was only sold as is in the American market, and not many were produced, with 1979 being the last year. Excellent to mint condition inside and out, has a functioning air conditioner, sunroof (does not leak), radio, windows and cruise control. I recently had it serviced with new fluids, hoses and filters.
This W116 has never been in a wreck, has no rust whatsoever and the engine burns no oil. The exterior is in great condition with flat panels and complete trim. The repaint in original Maple Yellow (color code 606) is gorgeous!
The interior is in good overall condition and has been well cared for. The front and rear seats are in great condition, and have just a little bit of fade on the driver's seat. The dash on top has no cracking. The original carpeting is in good condition and only has a minor bit of fade to it. New rubber mats are in place with original logo-style mats stored in the trunk. All gauges and electrical components function correctly, including the sunroof, cruise control, new radio, A/C and windows.
The 3.0L inline five turbo diesel and 4-speed automatic transmission perform great - burns no oil. The engine was rebuilt at 200,000 miles and the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The engine bay is clean, with no excess dirt or leakage. This car has enjoyed regular oil changes and other scheduled maintenance over time. I can provide extensive service documents upon request.
The suspension is completely stock and delivers a comfortable ride and great handling for such a large car. The alloy wheels and wears Michelins have plenty of thread life. The painted stock wheels have minor blemishes in places where balance weights have been removed. The underbody and suspension are in good condition and have no significant corrosion.
