1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Chrome as per original Additional Info:
Folks--this is a wonderful opportunity to own a well cared for, garaged and gently driven 1986 Mercedez-Benz SL-Class 560SL, Blue on Blue with hard and convertible soft top. The odometer reveals 91,204 miles to date.
The SL line by Mercedes Benz is without a doubt one of the most luxurious cars ever created in that time. Hop behind the wheel of the car you see here and you will be amazed to hear that it is a 1986. Next to other cars of their day these cars appear incredibly modern and still fit in well in current times. Roughly 11,631 of these cars were produced and base cost was around $48,000 new. This Mercedes is a car that has been very well cared for since new. I have driven the car in sun and summer only and is off the road (garaged) in the autumn and winter months.
It is coated in MB original deep blue paint which pairs with the blue upholstery as well as all of the original chrome and trim nicely. The body is very straight and shows no signs of previous wrecks or damage. The glass is all in great condition and has a very slight tint for those sunny days. The car still wears its original gorgeous chrome wheels with Mercedes center caps. The car was recently inspected and oil change serviced on 10/1.
The interior of the car is done in blue leather and is in good condition. The leather upholstery and carpeting show little to no signs of wear and you can tell you are sitting in a car that was used very minimally. The bucket seats are very comfortable and fully adjustable. The original dash utilizes all of its original components including the faux wood trim that leads into the original center console. Behind the seats the rear area is nicely carpeted and houses the speakers while providing a little extra storage space. The trunk of the car is nicely carpeted.
In the interest of full disclosure, passenger side sun visor is a bit wonky and needs replacement. One rear speaker (after market) does not work and should be an easy fix for the new owner. I have tried to represent the cars condition as best as I am able. I have used Hagerty's gradient chart to rate the car as in good condition. While the engine and paint most certainly could rate as very good under Hagerty's, I have erred in the conservative side here. I hope this helps you make your decision to come by and see this gem and ultimately purchase this wonderful vehicle.
If you are a fan of these cars then you have just run across a great example of the 560SL series and if you have never heard of them then you are missing out! The car is very comfortable and just as luxurious today as it was new!
Make this Benz yours for only $11,500.
Please note, I will only accept cash or a direct deposit to my checking account prior to title transfer as terms of sale. I have had too many bad experiences with very good fake bank checks, money orders and the like. My apologies, but I hope everyone understands.
