1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:
Up for sale is our supper smooth riding 83' Mercedes 300d with 328k miles. These are known to last 500,000 miles or more. This five cylinder diesel is considered one of the best engines made. Fuel economy is about 25 miles per gallon. I wanted to be upfront with this since a lot of websites claim these can get 40 miles per gallon and I've never experienced that. One problem that's a little too time-consuming for me to fix is a patch of rust underneath the drivers seat causing the seat to sag down. It will require some welding to fix. Some paint/clearcoat flaking is present with a few dents. Also there is some brake fluid loss that's typical of a car sitting for a while. Be prepared to replace a brake line or 2 if it is something more. The interior has been replaced with new leather in the past. It's very nice. I used this as a daily driver for about 18 months during 2012 and into 2013. It was parked after I noticed the toll it was taking on the car...ie rust and paint/clear coat loss. This car requires some work, but it's totally worth it. All electrical systems including the sunroof work fine. Must see. Priced to sell. I'd like to make some room in my garage this winter.
