1980 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 500SL Additional Info:

Up for auction is a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SL 2 Door Roadster - European model. This car has somewhere north of 138,000 miles. This is a Euro car and was built for the autobahn!

NOTE: This car is NOT a 1980. The car is a 1984 Model! For whatever reason Ebay wouldn't accept my VIN number so I had to select a year pre-1981 which didn't require the VIN to be included.

Cosmetic/Body:
Overall the car is in fair condition. The paint shows wear and a sunburn! I believe a deep polish would bring back the shine. The body is straight with no real dings, dents, or major scratches. The only rust I see is on the front quarter panels behind the front wheels -See pictures. Tires only have a few thousand miles but appear to have some dry rotting going on. Three tires hold air, one does not. The interior will need a good cleaning and the center console shows some damage. The soft top was purchased new in 2011 and is still in good shape. The hard top is original and shows to be in fair to good condition.
Mechanical/Electrical:
This car has not ran since 2013 or 2014. The owner scared himself driving to fast one day and decided it needed to be parked. It has literally SAT for 2-3 years. The battery has died, tires have gone flat, and surely the gas has lost its "gas." It could likely run with easy fixes but selling as is!
Has power windows, power locks, heated seats, all of which I have no idea if they work or not. Odometer shows 112,183 miles but the speedometer didn't work the last years. It is estimated the car has 138k miles.

This is my neighbors car which I have see sit in his yard over the last few years. He purchased in 2011 and has at least $18,000 invested in it. I'm helping him get this unit sold. He simply parked it and went untouched since.
This car is also listed locally for sale.
