History: This of this car as it was explained to me, is that the car stared life as one of twoidenticalcars purchased by the Canadian Government and assigned to theCanadianEmbassy inRussiathen later moved to the embassy in China. The car features every available option you can imagine from a remote power interior mirror, to a button on the rear door that moves the front passenger seat forward for easy exit. This 600 iscompletelyoriginal from the glass (double laminated) to the paint not including normal wear items like battery, tires and brakes. The interior isimmaculateand it has nocollisionhistory. As it was an embassy car no expense was spared inmaintenanceand care. It is likely one of the best S 600's to be offered for sale oneBay.
Mechanical:It drives beautifully as you would expect from a well looked after sedan. There a small drip of oil when parked not enough to effect the oil level.
Interior:The interior is outstanding, looking like a car that is only a couple years old. It is super clean and very well looked after. Front and rear seats are heated and power adjusting.
Body:There isabsolutelyno rust and has never been in anaccidentor has any paint work done. There is a small scrape on the ground effects panelbetweenthe back of the rear door and the rear wheel opening. It won't show in the pictures and was done in shipping butrequiresa veryminortouch upto be perfect. The car has no dents but has a very few minor stone chips. The glass is original and has the Mercedes Benz logo, there are no cracks, de-laminating or hazy areas. This car has a Mercedes Benz front fender flag mount.
Year:This is a bit of an issue,with the VIN...WDB1400561A168666 (it is not the VIN number shown above but eBay would not accept the proper number) the reason is that this car has an FIN number not a VIN. This is an alternative identification number used in Europe and other parts of the world on special build cars.
Overall: This is a very very rare car in fantastic originalconditionwith an interesting history. It has clearly led a charmed life as the original condition of the car attests to. If you are aMercedescollector or looking for an affordable excellent rare car this may be the perfect choice for you. I am down sizing my collection and offering the carunreservedbecause I'm serious about selling it. If you are notcertainyoucan afford it or may not be able to complete the sale please do not bid.
Location and Shipping:The car is located in British Columbia Canada about five hours from the Washington border. If a US buyer buys this car I will help with arranging shipping and with the paperwork as I am very familiar with the process. If you are looking for a quote on shipping this takes some time and I will only do this for the winning bidder, however, I can ship the the car to Blaine Washington for 500.00 and you can arrange the rest or pick it up there. There is a 2.5% duty on the purchase price for this car if it is imported to the US. I will ship the car world wide and help arrange the shipping. Ibelievethis car is worthy of a long road trip if you decided you wanted to pick it up in person and drive it home.
Payment:I make no exceptions on payment, it is due in full within 5 days of the end of the auction by paying cash in person or by bank wire transfer or e-transfer. No money orders or any other methods will be accepted. I find this is the safest way for both the buyer and me as there is a complete bank record of the transaction.
