Up for auction is my turbocharged 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata with only 68,001 original miles (may go up ever so slightly). Finished in Classic Red over black cloth interior. The car is optioned with Package A and Package B (power mirrors, power steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum alloy wheels, headrest speakers, cruise control (removed, included and can be reinstalled), power windows, power antenna and Limited Slip Differential (LSD). No AC.
This Miata is also equipped with many tasteful upgrades to enhance power, handling and visual appeal. One of the biggest upgrades is the Flyin Miata/BEGI intercooled turbo kit. It uses an IHI turbocharger and is currently set to run a modest 7 psi of boost. Boost can be adjusted for more or less. In its current configuration, it makes an estimated 170 horsepower and is plentiful for a ~2300lb little roadster. Best of all, this turbo kit is 50 states smog legal, even in super stringent California (CARB EO # D-349). Passes smog with no issues. The car is surprisingly fast and handles extremely well. Always makes me smile when I drive it. Gets many compliments.
The car is in immaculate condition. Paint is original as are all panels/bumpers with their original VIN stickers still affixed. Windshield has some rock chips on the passenger side but no cracks. There are a few minor scratches and unavoidable small parking-lot dents but no significant flaws. They are likely fixable with paintless dent repair but I’m not concerned about it. The paintwork is very glossy and smooth. Factory top seals tightly with no leaks and the back window is clear, not yellowed. Interior is extremely clean with no rips, stains or smells. Still looks like when it came off the showroom floor. Only premium fuel used and synthetic oil changes. Car has been garaged throughout its life, meticulously maintained and it shows.
This is unequivocally one of the nicest 1st generation NA Miata you can buy today. Clean title with no accidents. West Coast car with no rust. Unlike a stock NA, this one actually has some cajones and hauls ass with its turbo. Car has been extremely reliable and a ton of fun. Perfectly tuned and ready to go.
I purchased this Miata two and a half years ago from the seller who had it for 14 years but had driven it only 5,000 miles. His wife wanted to remodel their kitchen and forced him to sell for the money and garage space. I continued to lovingly care for and improve the car but now need to sell since I have more cars than space, time and money. I'm likely to regret this decision as it's increasingly difficult to find clean, low mileage classic Miatas and their values have been going up. Nonetheless, it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
The following are also included with the car:
