1990 Mazda Miata
1.6L 5 Speed Manual Transmission
231,600 miles
I am the second owner of this Miata that I have had for 22 years. The car has always been serviced on schedule and repaired correctly when required.
No Track days, Autocross or Drifting. My daughter used the Miata for college and work for a few years but now has purchased another car so I have it back. I enjoy this car but I have too many cars and so it has to go.
This is an early car that had the famed “short crank” issue. The crank pulley began to wobble eventually causing the timing belt to slip. I purchased a new factory crate motor from Mazda and the old unit was swapped out in 1999 with 100K miles on the car.
Over those 22 years it has had a few minor incidents. The driver’s door was replaced because it was less expensive than repairing the dent caused by inattentive driver. The front and rear bumper covers have been replaced for the same reason. Commuter traffic can be hard on a car. The integrity of the chassis was never compromised.
The current finish has rock chips, scratches and small dents but it shines and looks good. You will not fear leaving the car in any parking lot.
New clutch with test miles only.
New Alternator.
Original windshield finally caught a rock and was replaced.
Passed California Smog in January 2016. Currently registered.
8K on Timing Belt, Water Pump and Seals.
Recent glass window Robins Top.
