Additional Info:

1985 Mazda Rx7 GSL/S5
Unique, well built 1985 Rx7 with a subframe swap out of 1990 FC S5 Rx7.
rebuild includes:13B N/A motor with fuel injection, power steering (no more truck steering), brakes (bigger/ better), aluminum suspension components, crossmember and 5 bolt wheel hubs. *motor came from a 1990 rx7 with 87,000 miles.Basically the entire front end of a 1990 S5 was put onto this 1985 FB. It's glorious.A new ring and pinion set was installed in the rear differential giving it a 4.4 to 1 final drive ratio. (also comes with separate differential with stock 3.9 to 1 gearing.)Stock Mazda “smooth-case” 5-speed manualtransmission holds up great.Exedy Clutch installed with 2000 current miles on it. New shocks and springs all around. Every single thing on this car has been gone through, serviced and cleaned.Power increased over stock car by 50 horsepower, giving it 160 from 110. With that power gain and the gearing change, you can burn tires all day long if you wanted to.With the current gearing setup; however, long distance driving is not recommended. It's an around town car. A Go-Kart. ...but there is the stock differential included that you can swap in with relative ease to make it a normal driver.Interior is spotless except for a few small blemishes, Everything works.Zero rust inside or out, top or bottom. Zero leaks. Zero squeeks.Burns exactly as much oil as an rx7 is supposed to.a/c has been removed (washington state cars don't need a/c lol).Power windows work fine. Wipers too.Pioneer DVD player with 4 RockfordFosgate speakers w/MB Quartz amp to a JBL 8"subwoofer.Most reliable Rx7 i've ever owned. It's a great car.
The Bad:-driver door lock was replaced before my time and does not have a key. ignition key unlocks passenger door.-rear window no longer stays up on it's own...needs new struts. (available on ebay)-that's it.
*bolt patterns are different between front and rear wheels, as per the crossmember swap.front bolt pattern is 5X114.3 (5x4.5)rear bolt pattern is 4x110
*tires are good, no repairs, no cracks, no rot...but they are 13 years old (full disclosure)
It's 41 years old, but the car is very clean. no cracked paint, still shiny (it has been repainted black from factory blue by it's first owner. I believe I am the 3rd owner. Garaged most of it's life. The car is awesome if FB Rx7's are your passion. Drive as is or start another build.
