Vehicle Details
1983 FB Mazda RX-7 GS engine is a 12A Rotary. I am the third owner of this car. The second owner purchased the car in 1988 when it had approximately 114,000 miles on it. The second owner passed away and I purchased the car from his estate. The car had been sitting and had not moved in approximately 25 years before I bought it.
The car currently has 145,582 miles and runs and drives good. It starts every time and shifts through all the gears perfectly. The car drives down the road very nice and straight. This is a rust-free car with no rust anywhere.
Recent maintenance and new parts include:
New front wheel bearings
New front brake rotors
New front brake calipers
New brake master cylinder
New clutch master cylinder
New water pump
New spark plugs
Recent oil change (engine and rear end)
Brand new tires
New tie rods
The paint cleans up very well as you can see in the pictures. This is a survivor car that presents very well for its age.
The bad:
Exhaust system appears to be original and is starting to get loud, it will likely need a new exhaust
The car does smoke a little on startup, but it clears up very quickly and does not smoke while driving or idling
Driver front seat has a patch and will need reupholstered
A few small dings and scratches from age
A/C does not currently work, but the compressor does engage and it may only need a charge
This is a very solid, rust-free RX-7 survivor that runs and drives and would make a great restoration candidate or weekend car.
Please review all pictures carefully and feel free to message me with any questions. The car is being sold as-is due to age. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally.
I want to be very clear and honest about the car so there are no surprises. The car runs and drives well, starts easily, shifts smoothly, and drives straight down the road. The small amount of smoke on startup is common with rotary engines after sitting and it clears up quickly. This is a very solid, rust-free survivor car that has been brought back to driving condition after long-term storage. It is not a fully restored car, but a very honest original car that could be driven and improved over time or restored.
