FOR AUCTION BY PRIVATE OWNER
This one-of-a-kind, beautifully running '83 RX-7 is now for sale! Formerly raced in multiple racing leagues in Northern California, Nevada, and here in Arizona, over the years it has gone through many liveries and many, many upgrades and changes to make it what it is today. A decorated past, this car has absolutly shredded on the track! Being described as a "biplane screaming past you down the track" by an enthusiastic onlooker, I've never had the opportunity before to work on such a headturner! It came with goodies like the original key and keychain, original owner's manual and ten-minute Mazda maintenance course, as well as multiple racing booklets and papers with photos of this car in previous skins. Most races (which happens to be a LOT), from what I can see, have been logged and kept in the binder that will come with this car.
We purchased the car a few weeks ago and once I signed the vintage title, we have spent every day getting this car track and owner ready! Featuring fresh carpeting, a fully detailed and redone interior, fully padded rollcage, it is comfortable, sleek, and safe.
Not to mention the exterior, which has been cleaned, polished, buffed, and waxed to ensure paint and livery protection on the track. The tires are brand new Federal SS 595's mounted on alloy racing rims. Behind them, bright red brakes holding Hawk #150 and #151 brake pads. We've gone through and rebuilt/tuned the carburetor fully, the engine is in IMMACULATE shape performance wise; Rotary engines are typically used as daily drivers which is inherently unhealthy for them; they build up oil and the apex seals wear out faster. This engine, however, has been continually raced at 4, 5, 6,000 RPMS, not to mention checked and meticulously maintained to ensure peak performance to secure wins on the track. This rotary has been fed a very healthy mix of Premium/Regular fuel (depending on temperature) and 2-stroke premix. Don't worry, though! Included will be a full maintenance guide written by previous racing teams to ensure the engine continues to run and perform well. (Did I mention it was replaced by the higher-horsepower 1985 RX-7 engine in 2001? This is documented in the papers associated with this car).
I personally have had the amazing opportunity to work on, learn about, and finally drive this incredible vehicle! My only hope is for this auction to go successfully so someone else can also scream it down the road or track and enjoy it just as we have, as well as the many many race drivers who have expertly maneuvered it around a race track.
