1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata Additional Info:
CASH ONLY - NO TRADES
For sale is my turbo'd 1993 Mazda Miata with 117k miles on the chassis. The car starts and moves under its own power, but it needs either a new 1.8 block OR rebuild the current 1.8 block that's in the car. Other than that this car is 100% autocross or road course ready and has every go-fast part you would want for a track setup.
I bought this car 6 months ago, sight unseen from someone in South Carolina and had the intention of using it as a dedicated track car. As it turns out, the motor has 2 cylinders with low dry compression and high wet. I believe the rings are bad in cylinders 2 and 3. The car will start and it will move under its own power, but I would NOT recommend trying to drive it without having the engine sorted. That is why the price is $4800. You could probably part this thing out and get that much for it.
I do not have the time to deal with sorting the motor, and I need room in my garage. If interested, I will have the car shipped at your expense, otherwise you should plan to pick it up with a trailer. No stories here - the engine just simply needs to be rebuilt or a new 1.8 block thrown in.
This car has everything you need to track - the prior owner autocrossed it for several years - Bilstein B6 suspension, welded in roll bar, hard top, race seats/harnesses, a 6 puck race clutch, 4.10 LSD, and so on (full specs below). The car has a 99 block and a 97 head. The turbo is a Garret S14 T25 I believe.
INCLUDED IS a new aluminum radiator that I bought - there is a super small leak only after you drive it, but it's a Miata and I figured $100 for a new alum radiator is cheap peace of mind.
I also have a spare trunk and APR dual foil aluminum wing
Serious buyers only. At $4800 for a car that has all the parts that this does, it far outweighs the cost of having the engine rebuilt.
