1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata M-EDITION Additional Info:

On offer is a 1994 Mazda Miata “M Edition”. It is a southern car with no rust or rot. Selling with NO RESERVE. If anyone bids more than the starting price, the car will sell! Please don't bid if you don't intend to complete the sale.

As an M-Edition, this car is equipped with many extra features. It has the “chrome” polished wheels, M-edition doorsill plates, and M-Edition floor mats. The interior has the leather seats, a wood shift knob, a wood steering wheel, and a “wood” trim kit on the dash. It is equipped with power steering, Limited Slip rear end, Air Conditioning, cruise control, power windows, head-rest speakers, power antenna. It also has the Anti-lock Brake System, with disc brakes on all wheels. It also has the studs at the base of the windshield, and hard to find snap fasteners on the mirror base, for the attachment of a tonneau cover, if the buyer wants to add one.

It currently has approximately 116K miles, and I have taken it out of service, so the mileage won’t change much. It has had regular oil changes and service at a local shop. A major service was done in June of 2016, including the engine front-end service (timing belt, water pump, seals, etc.), also the clutch was replaced, and a new throw-out bearing, and slave cylinder installed, and the hydraulic system flushed. Both accessory drive belts were checked and the AC checked and serviced. New adjustable coil-over shocks were installed within the last month.

On the exterior, the paint is in good shape, with the exception of the plastic rear license plate surround, which has some checking of the clear coat. PLEASE NOTE: Some of the photos look like there are scratchs on the body, but they are actually reflections of the sun shining through the trees in the background. Body damage is limited to a small, nickel sized, dent behind the drivers door, a very small star like dent in the hood (apparently someone closed it with the oil filler cap, or a tool, on top of the engine. I did not see the dent until it was too late to point fingers), and a very small dent on the rim of the left front wheel well (hard to see, unless the light is at a certain angle.

In the interest of full disclosure (although there is no evidence that I can see) I was told by the prior owner, the car had received a small parking lot dent on the left rear quarter, which he had repaired. If so the shop did a really good job, because there is no evidence of a repair.

The top has a few places where the edge stitching is getting frayed. However; it is tight and there are no leaks, even at speed, in a heavy rain. (It has been “tested”.)

I am not sure but think it is the factory top, equipped with a zip-out rear window. The plastic window is in good condition, with no kinks or cracks, and only a few light scratches. No discoloration is noted.

I have replaced the “ash tray” with a wooden cup holder. The driver’s seat has a small hole on the outside bolster, which I have covered with a glued on patch. This was done to prevent any further damage.

I purchased the car with the intent of using it as a daily driver, instead my daughter “borrowed” it, and only returned it when I supplied a VW convertible to take its place. In the meantime, I sold my 1949 Dodge Woody and have acquired a 1986 Dodge 600 turbo convertible, and am using it as my current “fun” car, and that is why the Miata is up for sale. This has been my third Miata and I am afraid I will sorely miss it. But, while my wife puts up with my serial car collecting (57 to date, and 27 motorcycles), she prefers to limit the number cars “in house” at any one time, not to mention that I am finding difficult to enter and exit such a small car!

Thanks for looking.

Note: As with all things, the future is unknown, and so NO WARRANTY is offered. The car is sold as is, where is. If you want to have the car inspected, contact me and we can make arrangements. Shipping is up to the winning bidder.
