1977 Mazda Cosmo Additional Info:

1977 Mazda Cosmo 5 speed. It's all there but 1 piece of trim. It can look good again without too much work. Had a cheap paint job at some point, then someone primed it poorly but I sanded a bit and the original paint is still there so easy sand and shoot if you like. Was originally black so would also look good with color change since under hood and all are still black.
Has a couple rust spots behind all the wheels and some on the front air dam below bumper, but nothing for a 40 year old Japanese car. No visible rust in floor - see picture #20. Probably because it has been off the road for 20 years. See picture of last emissions sticker.
Car body is much straighter than it looks in the pictures. Trunk lid would need to be sanded down to metal as paint is cracked.
Car was single owner for years, then and engineer from a local Dyno company got it and built a 13B bridge port engine and put it in it. It starts right up and runs. He couldn't get it to pass Colorado emissions so it sat for 10 years. I have a good set of side housings I will include if you want to go back to stock porting. If you have no emissions where you are keep the bridge ports and have fun! Wish I could here.
It is a solid bridge port motor that by itself is worth thousands of dollars. Hear it run.

Interesting car - all coil suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, much more advanced than RX2 RX3 or RX4.
There are none around. Super rare. Look what restored classic Mazda rotaries, pre RX7s, sell fore and you will see it's a value.
I bought it, cleaned out fuel system, properly re-comissioned the engine, soaking the internals with oil for several days. Since then we rebuilt carb, points, cap rotor wires etc. Brand new tires as the old ones were dry rotted. It starts and runs but the bridge porting means it idles at 2000+ rpm.
Has a lumpy bridge port idle. From 4500 up its a rocket. I drove it enough on a temp tag to verify it runs strong, the gear box is solid, suspension is good too. You will need to do the brakes due to leaks from age.
Has original owner's manual and a bunch of additional documents.
If it doesn't sell I will eventually restore it myself.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking.
